Hot temperatures and smoke will make for another unpleasant day to be outdoors.
Plan Your Wednesday
Wednesday brings widespread highs in the upper 90s to lower 100s for the late afternoon. A Heat Advisory is in effect. Our sky will remain smoky, which should keep us away from 100 around Spokane and Coeur d’Alene but will continue to hurt air quality. Wednesday Night remains warm and smoky as a system begins to move in for Thursday.
What We’re Tracking
The focus shifts to a fire weather pattern starting Thursday. We’ll begin Thursday with smoke and some isolated showers and thunderstorms. More storms are possible during the afternoon that could produce frequent lightning and gusty winds. New fires are certainly a possibility here.
At the same time, the increase in winds will help blow a lot of the smoke out of our breathing space by late in the day. This may not last, however, as we’ll see southwest winds starting Thursday night that could bring in smoke from Oregon at times…
