Indiana Pacers All-Star Tyrese Haliburton and his fiancée Jade Jones have officially tied the knot in a courthouse ceremony in Indianapolis, the couple announced on social media this week.
Haliburton, a standout guard for the Pacers, popped the question last July on the basketball court at Iowa State University’s Hilton Coliseum, where both he and Jones have deep roots-he as a former Cyclones player and she as a cheerleader. The pair began dating back in 2019.
In an Instagram post, Jones shared the news with the caption, “It’s (courthouse) official,” alongside photos featuring the couple with family and friends. The couple is planning a larger wedding celebration on August 1, a date hinted at by Haliburton in a recent social media comment referencing a photo from the World Cup Final: “Two more weeks, we changing that name.”
The engagement came shortly after Haliburton suffered a torn Achilles tendon during Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder, causing him to miss the entire 2025-26 season. Despite the setback, Haliburton has reported significant recovery progress and is expected to be ready for the 2026-27 NBA season.
Tragically, the couple’s joy was tempered by the loss of a close friend during Jones’s bachelorette party in St. Barts.
Makenzi Kern, also a former Cyclones cheerleader, passed away unexpectedly due to health complications. Jones paid heartfelt tribute to Kern on Instagram, reflecting on her unwavering support and the lasting memories they shared.
Haliburton, a two-time All-NBA and All-Star selection, secured his future with the Pacers by signing a five-year, $244.6 million contract extension in 2023. As he looks ahead to his return on the court and his new chapter in life, the Pacers star appears poised for both personal and professional milestones.
