ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A plan to bring a new Culver’s restaurant to Rockford’s south side is moving through the city’s approval process.
The proposal, scheduled for review by the Rockford Zoning Board of Appeals, would rezone part of the former Ken-Rock Community Center property at 3218 11th St. from residential to commercial use, clearing the way for construction of a new Culver’s restaurant with a drive-thru.
City planning staff are recommending approval of the rezoning request, saying the redevelopment would be compatible with surrounding land uses and would help bring new investment to an underutilized site…
