In a foodie-centered city like San Antonio, the “best brunch” battle is brutal, and one popular spot is reportedly bowing out of the Alamo City arena with a big rebrand.
According to a Monday news release, 35 locations of Maple Street Biscuit Company — a subsidiary of Tennessee-born Cracker Barrel — have been acquired by Biscuit Belly, a Kentucky-based brunch spot founded in 2019 by husband-and-wife team Chad and Lauren Coulter.
“I’ve got some exciting news to share with you,” Lauren said in a Wednesday Instagram post. “We are actually acquiring Maple Street Biscuit Company … This is a really, really big step for us. We are going to go from 15 current stores to about 50 in 10 states,” she added. “Starting this fall, we’ll actually begin converting these locations into Biscuit Bellies.”…
