Law enforcement response to Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples

To those concerned,

In my life, I have sat at many tables. These are tables where the lives of the Alaska Native Peoples are being determined. For decades, I have sat with many leaders and those I have sadly observed to be title holders who rarely read their board material but are there to pick up their check.

The most recent death of Kelly Hunt has hit me deeply and viscerally. Missing and murdered Indigenous Women is very real. The federal and state governments have made token efforts to deal with this ongoing problem. I was a part of Operation Lady Justice, funded by the U.S. Department of Justice. This was a collective of all law enforcement agencies, federal, state, local, tribal and city.
