GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A state lawmaker is calling for more to be done to stop illegal car meetups and street takeovers.
Michigan House of Representatives Majority Floor Leader Bryan Posthumus, R-Rockford, said he is concerned about the number of such meetups and thinks more can be done to hold the people responsible accountable.
“We have to make sure that if people are doing things like that, they’re doing it in a manner that is safe and they’re doing it on private property that they have rights to rather than doing it on public streets,” Posthumus said.
