COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Colorado Springs is adding eight new school zones at middle schools and high schools before the end of summer, as part of an ongoing effort to reduce car-related accidents in school traffic.
The city plans to complete 16 school zones total through the current calendar school year.

- Vista Ridge High School
- Sierra High School
- Cheyenne Mountain High School
- Jack Swigert Aerospace Academy
- Mountain Ridge Middle School* (hard signs only)
- Fox Meadow Middle School
- Nikola Tesla Education Opportunity Center
- Mann Middle School
- Wilson Elementary / Mitchell High School
- Martinez Elementary (scheduled for Aug)
- Atlas Prep (scheduled for Aug)
- Panorama Middle School (scheduled for Aug)
- West Middle School (scheduled for Aug)
- Palmer High School (scheduled for Aug)
- North Middle School (scheduled for Aug)
- McAuliffe Elementary School (scheduled for Aug)
Flashers installed at each site
Each school zone is outfitted with two to four flashing beacons designed to alert drivers as they approach. Seven additional zones are planned for completion in August…
