A Florida woman wanted in connection with a murder has managed to evade capture for weeks, with authorities alleging that several accomplices have aided her in staying hidden.
Isabelle Rose Johnson, 38, is charged with the killing of Jason Christopher Coulthart. A warrant was issued for her arrest on June 26, and since then, she has successfully avoided law enforcement.
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office described Johnson as a “cunning master manipulator” who has relied on the assistance of others to remain undercover. To date, five individuals have been arrested in relation to the murder investigation.
Authorities have released multiple images of Johnson, including surveillance photos and a mugshot from Carroll County, Georgia, in hopes of enlisting the public’s help in locating her. She has reportedly altered her appearance by changing hairstyles, wearing hats and eyeglasses, and using various aliases such as “Harley,” “Jessica Elaine Bowman,” and “Denise” when interacting with people.
The victim, 43-year-old Jason Christopher Coulthart, was found buried in a shallow grave on a property in Freeport, Florida’s Panhandle, on June 25. He had been reported missing a month earlier, with his last known whereabouts traced to the College Condominiums on East College Boulevard. Coulthart leaves behind a son.
Sheriff Michael Adkinson warned that anyone assisting Johnson in evading arrest will face charges. “If you give her a place to stay, help her hide, or lie for her, you will face consequences,” he said.
“This is a homicide case. We will not allow anyone to interfere with this investigation.”
In a coordinated effort, multiple law enforcement agencies have offered a $16,000 reward for information leading to Johnson’s arrest as the search continues.
