LIBERTY, N.C. (WGHP) — Over 2,000 have lost power in Liberty as the result of heavy rainfall caused by Tropical Storm Bertha moving north from the Gulf Coast on Thursday morning.
Conditions aren’t likely to improve across the state as a slow-moving cold front moving West will produce a line of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Heavy rain is expected throughout today and overnight. In addition, a Level 1/Moderate Risk of severe thunderstorms today, with the primary threat being damaging winds, which could cause more outages.
