ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – A Rockford man is sentenced Thursday after pleading guilty to a weapons charge stemming from a shooting two months ago, court records show.
Antoine Phillips, 50, was sentenced to two years in prison for unlawful possession of weapons by a felon. He must serve at least 50 percent of the sentence and will be on supervision for six months after his release.
Around 5 p.m., May 15, police went out to the 2100 block of School Street for a report of gunshots in the area. Witnesses accused Phillips of shooting at another man before driving away, police said.
