The Texas Panhandle was rattled Thursday morning shortly before sunrise with an earthquake that measured 5.0 magnitude and was felt as far as eastern Oklahoma.
The 5:21 a.m. quake was the strongest recorded in the region and was only the fourth of a magnitude 4.0 or greater since 1900, reported the U.S. Geological Survey.
