PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – As evacuees of the Aspen Acres Fire slowly start coming back home, the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) shared an update on its efforts to care for displaced pets and support evacuated families.
HSPPR said over the course of 19 days, its Community Animal Response Team (CART) and Animal Law Enforcement team operated the small animal evacuation center in Pueblo.
HSPPR officials said the temporary shelter cared for 337 animals whose families were forced to evacuate.
