Charleston weather: Thunderstorms and flash flooding possible Friday across the Charleston area

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Storm Team 2 has declared a Weather Alert Day for Friday and Saturday afternoons due to the potential for thunderstorms and flash flooding.

A slow-moving cold front is forecast to interact with the sea breeze on Friday afternoon, which could produce heavy rainfall across portions of the Lowcountry. Forecasters say rainfall amounts could range from three to five inches in some areas.

A flood watch will be in effect Friday from noon through the evening.
