WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Butler County Sheriff’s Office announced on Thursday that it is coordinating a community search party to find a missing 77-year-old man with dementia.
Fred Dieter has been missing since June 13 after he walked away from his home in rural Augusta near Southwest 100th Street and Boyer Road.

The sheriff’s office invites those interested in joining the search to meet at the overpass of U.S. Highway 54 on Southwest Boyer Road at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
“We will have a map of the area we intend to search and are again going to ask the public to search their land, buildings, etc., as well as ask that they reach out if they have any information,” the sheriff’s office said in an email.
Dieter is described as a 5-foot-9-inch man weighing 175 pounds, with brown eyes, gray hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt and a baseball cap…
