LITTLE COTTONWOOD CANYON, Utah, July 23, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — A hiker who became separated Thursday from a partner and felt unsafe moving up or down on the south ridge of Mr. Superior, Little Cottonwood Canyon, was rescued by a search and rescue crew from the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Two friends started the hike at 6 a.m. Thursday, says a statement issued by the Sheriff’s SAR team. The two became separated, and one called for help shortly before noon .
