With the Prichard City Council divided on removing Prichard Police Chief Walter Knight and abolishing the police department, residents are weighing in.
“Abolishing the police department is not an option for our residents,” Prichard Resident Chiquitta Howard said. “We need the mayor to come in. We need her to appoint a new leadership model for the Prichard Police Department. That way, the citizens can feel more comfortable with public safety here in the city.”
“I mean, Its a sad situation what they got going on, but it’s a time for a change,” Prichard Resident Rawhide Hawkins said. “A time for a change. You know, if they want to make it, whatever they’re going to do to make the city better. You know, good for us. You know what I’m saying?”…
