St. Louis woman says overgrown city-owned lots make it unsafe to leave her home

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – A 78-year-old woman in the Greater Ville neighborhood says overgrown weeds and brush on city-owned lots behind her home have made it difficult and unsafe to leave her house.

Anna James is an amputee, and three times a week, she is rolled down the alley behind her home on Cora Ave., just east of North Kingshighway, by her nephew, Elijah, to wait for her dialysis transport.

“There was a lady hiding in the weeds on Cora, right across from the school,” James said. “So, it’s scary. You don’t know what’s out there, you don’t know what’s lurking around there.”…
