ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – Neighbors of a condemned South St. Louis apartment complex are still waiting to learn what will happen to the property, months after a police raid and city action led to the removal of about 60 people living there.
City code enforcement returned to Concord Apartments on Illinois Avenue, off South Broadway, on Friday to re-board the property. The complex was condemned this spring with public health and safety concerns. A St. Louis police raid in April was related to reports of ongoing crime.
Despite the re-boarding, other problems persist. A Marine Villa neighborhood resident who lives nearby, Cassandra Conner, said boards have been removed from some buildings, people have been seen on the property, weeds and grass have not been cut, and the fence is not fully securing the site…
