It’s been a quiet morning for New Mexico. Low temperatures bottomed out in the 70s and 60s throughout the metro. Today’s forecast brings the heat and the storms for many communities around the state. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued Heat Advisories, until 8 pm, for Chaves, Eddy, Dona Ana and parts of Otero County. This heat alert was issued for temperatures that may reach 106 and 107 degrees. Showers and storms have also developed at the start of the afternoon in the northern mountains and western New Mexico. The NWS has issued Flash Flood Warnings over the Hermits Peak and Calf Canyon burnscar for heavy rainfall along with a location between Pinehill and Grants in Cibola County…
