Construction slows down business at downtown Sioux Falls restaurant

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Construction on 8th Street and 3rd Street along Weber Avenue in downtown Sioux Falls is expected to be complete around mid-August. Railroad crossing improvements will be installed, which include new lights, crossing arms, and a median.

With that come street closures that have affected some local businesses since construction began in May.

Roots of Brasil has been a staple in downtown since 2022. While manager Courtney Hardie understands that construction needs to happen and will benefit the whole city, sales have gone down, and she’s asking for continued support…
