The Store gifts 800 Middle Tennessee children with supplies ahead of school year

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — For many families, back-to-school shopping is a yearly tradition. For others, it’s a financial burden.

On Saturday, more than 800 children from across Middle Tennessee received backpacks, school supplies, books and new shoes during The Store’s third annual back-to-school shopping event.

The event was hosted by The Store, the nonprofit founded by Kimberly Williams-Paisley and Brad Paisley, which provides free groceries and other support to families facing food insecurity.

“It’s an amazing thing to be able to provide for these folks,” Brad Paisley said. “There’s so much that goes into sending a kid to school in the fall. If you’re struggling to put food on the table, school supplies and everything else are hard to come by.”…
