Plans for a new Touchette Regional Hospital in Cahokia Heights have been approved. The new hospital will offer newer, better services to the region—some services not offered in this area of Illinois. This $231 million location will keep the community from leaving southern Illinois to find the care they need.
The new location will be just five miles from the current Touchette Regional Hospital. Groundbreaking is expected next March, and the hospital is scheduled to open in 2029. There will be surgery, imaging, testing, and behavioral services in the new location. The unit serving patients ages 12-17 is the only one of its kind south of Springfield in Illinois.
