PEACHTREE CITY, GA — Georgia is facing a stretch of unsettled weather that could bring isolated severe storms, heavy rain and risky heat for much of the week. The National Weather Service office in Peachtree City has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for a broad area that includes north and central Georgia, along with Muscogee County.
No severe weather warnings are in effect right now, but forecasters say conditions could change as the week goes on. The main concerns are lightning, brief bursts of heavy rainfall and, later in the week, repeated afternoon and evening thunderstorms.
Storm Timing
Monday’s outlook calls for isolated thunderstorms, with lightning and brief heavy rain most likely in the afternoon and early evening. Tuesday is expected to turn hot and humid, with scattered showers possible.
From Wednesday through Saturday, the forecast shifts back toward scattered thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening hours. Those storms could bring lightning and periods of heavy rainfall across parts of the state.
Heat Risks
