SUNDAY:Some very welcome rain is falling across the Chattahoochee Valley this morning, which is a good thing, because we’re fixing to turn HOT and dry for much of the week.
THIS WEEK:We’re going to be seeing an upper level ridge build to our west with some places in the Central U.S. seeing highs well into the 100s with heat index values around 115°. Here localy, we’ll be on the eastern edge of that ridge, so we’ll see some pretty warm temps with highs topping out in the upper 90s to close to 100 Monday through Wednesday with heat index values approaching 105° Monday, 110° on Tuesday, and 105° on Wednesday. Wednesday, a front comes down from the north, but most of the rain, if any, will be south of Columbus. That front will stall and become stationary with chances for rain confined to areas along the coast.
The ridge causing the hot and dry weather will move west toward the end of the week so our highs will come down close to or just below our average high of 93°. Plus, Saturday looks like we’ll have rain chances return with isolated afternoon showers and storms, with a better coverage of rain coming in on Sunday thanks to an area of low pressure moving along that stalled out front…
