Divine Coffee’s greatest strength is not simply what it serves. It is the way the café gives people enough room to drink, talk, work and linger without turning any one of those activities into a problem for everyone else.

When my wife and I stopped in recently, I noticed the size of the room almost immediately. Divine is among the more spacious coffee shops in the Johns Creek area, but it does not feel like a large retail space that someone simply filled with tables. The room has been considered carefully, from the dark ceiling and concrete floor to the bright windows, varied furniture and small visual details that keep the openness from becoming emptiness.

That distinction matters more than it may sound. Many suburban coffee shops are pleasant until four people open their laptops. Tables disappear, conversations begin competing with video calls, and customers arriving for a quick drink feel as though they have walked into someone else’s office…
