GATES, N.Y. — The family of Jmere Ridley Smith honored him Sunday on the one-year anniversary of his death. News10NBC’s Declan Stablow spoke with Jmere’s mother at Cobbs Hill Park.
Jmere’s family gathered for a barbecue, a balloon release and a celebration of his life. He was shot and killed one year ago at a Wegmans warehouse where he worked.
White and blue balloons filled the sky in his memory earlier on Sunday. The family also played his music, which his mother, Jamala Ridley, said is one of the only things she has left of Jmere.
