KHP tracks down suspect wanted for battery on an officer

SEDGWICK COUNTY—Last week, Kansas Highway Patrol Troopers initiated a traffic stop on a known felony parole absconder who had an outstanding warrant for battery on a law enforcement officer, according to a social media report from the KHP.

When troopers initiated the stop, the driver fled, prompting a pursuit. A trooper successfully deployed stop sticks, disabling the vehicle.

The suspect then fled on foot but was located a short time later through the coordinated efforts of our Air Support Unit, K9s, and ground units. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident…
