Evansville woman accused of hitting child on e-bike, leaving scene of crash

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — An Evansville woman was arrested after police say she left the scene of a crash involving an 11-year-old riding an electric bicycle.

According to a police affidavit, Miasia McBaine was arrested after authorities responded to a hit and run in the area of south Grand Avenue Saturday afternoon. According to authorities, a child told them she was riding on Madison Avenue and wasn’t able to stop her electric bike at the intersection with South Grand.

When she entered the intersection, that’s when authorities say she was struck by McBaine’s SUV. The child was badly hurt and was taken to the hospital.

McBaine was later identified, found and booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail on charges of leaving the scene of a crash and driving without insurance. She has since been released…
