Kaukauna’s Grignon Mansion opens bicentennial time capsule

KAUKAUNA, Wis. (WBAY) – A time capsule buried in 1976 is giving Kaukauna a window into life 50 years ago.

On Sunday, the friends of Grignon Mansion opened the bicentennial capsule buried on the mansion grounds, pulling out items such as old menus from Kaukauna restaurants and other mid-1970s mementos that hadn’t been seen, heard, or even smelled in decades.

Board chair Gavin Schmitt says they’re not just looking back, they’re also packing the next chapter…
