Christian County Public Schools is expanding its alternative education offerings for the upcoming school year while placing them under the leadership of a veteran educator with decades of experience in the district.
Superintendent Chris Bentzel said the district has reorganized several existing programs into the newly created Christian County Learning Center, located at the former Christian County High School campus at 200 Glass Avenue. The center will be led by Carrie Caples, who was recently named principal of Alternative Programming.
Caples was the principal of the Bluegrass Learning Academy and will oversee the district’s Virtual Learning Academy, home and hospital instruction, Focus and Finish, credit recovery and other alternative education programs…
