Murder arrest made weeks after shooting at Lee County party

LEE COUNTY, Ala. (WTVM) – A Phenix City man has been arrested after a deadly shooting at an open house party in Lee County.

18-year-old Raymond Earl has been charged with murder and is being held in the Lee County Detention Center.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred in the 800 block of Lee Road 197 during an open house party on July 11. Deputies responded and located a man laying in the yard with what appeared to be a gunshot wound in the chest.

According to deputies, the victim was transported to Piedmont Hospital in Columbus, where he later died…
