GRAND LEDGE, Mich. (News 10) — A group of volunteer seamstresses in Eaton County has spent the past 13 years making dresses for girls in Africa through a nonprofit called Little Dresses for Africa, and the group is approaching a milestone of 1,000 dresses made.
The group, known as “Wednesdays at Watson,” meets at the Watson One Room School House near Grand Ledge, a building that dates to 1849. Janet Merryfield leads the volunteers and has headed the dress-making effort since its start with the group.
