High-stakes trial underway over Coyote Springs development north of Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A trial that could cost the state more than $1.5 billion is underway in Clark County.

The developers of Coyote Springs, envisioned as a bedroom community about 50 miles north of Las Vegas, blame Nevada for killing the project. The State Engineer said water needed for the project wasn’t available.

After years of legal wrangling, the developers sued. The trial is expected to last months…
