Knoxville Police still searching for killer five years after woman’s death

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — It has been five years since Martaysha Flack, 20, was fatally shot, but no one has ever been charged in the case. On Tuesday, the Knoxville Police Department asked the public for information that could help them find new leads in the case.

Around 5 p.m. on July 28, 2021, KPD officers responded to a shooting in the parking lot of Holston Oak Apartments on Riverside Drive. Knoxville Police said officers found Flack suffering from a gunshot wound inside a vehicle.

Flack was pronounced dead at the scene. A man had also been shot and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Five years later, KPD detectives are still pursuing active leads, but no one has been arrested or charged.
