MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A dangerous heat wave is expected to bring life-threatening conditions to the Mobile area Tuesday and Wednesday, with intense heat and high humidity forecast for both days.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advises residents to stay indoors in air conditioning as much as possible, drink plenty of fluids even when not thirsty, and wear loose, lightweight, light-colored clothing. The CDC also urges people to never leave pets or children inside a vehicle during extreme heat.
Residents already feeling the heat
With higher temperatures already arriving, some Mobile residents spent Monday finding ways to cool off outdoors. Angelique Brown and her daughter visited Medal of Honor Park for snow cones.
“We make sure we have Gatorades, waters, and popsicles,” Brown said. “We stay in the cool air most of the time.”…
