Freeport residents will have a new option for getting around the city when Pretzel City Area Transit launches a fixed-route transportation pilot on Aug. 3.
The program will test scheduled bus service with designated stops and planned arrival times across Freeport, according to a community announcement. Transit officials and the City of Freeport said the pilot is designed to help residents travel to jobs, schools, shopping destinations, medical appointments and other locations while gathering feedback about how a permanent fixed-route system could operate.
