ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – For generations, sidewalk vendors have sold their jewelry under a portal next to a historic building in Albuquerque’s Old Town. However, with changes that could be coming to the building, vendors worry they’re being pushed out of the way, leading to the loss of the historic tradition.
“I’ve been selling here for about 35 years,” said Denise Pepin.
On a typical day, Denise Pepin can be seen selling her handcrafted jewelry under the covering next to the historic Armijo House off San Felipe Street in Old Town Albuquerque. However, she’s one of the vendors who is worried about changes that could be coming…
