Heat advisory issued for Cherokee County and most of Georgia

Cherokee County and other parts of the state are under a head advisory from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with heat index values expected to be over 100 degrees.

The National Weather Service’s heat advisory area includes Cherokee and other parts of metro Atlanta, northwest Georgia, and middle and south Georgia.
