A 911 dispatcher reported hearing a woman screaming and crying moments before TikTok influencer Sara Gilson-also known as Sara Duffey-was found dead alongside her husband in what authorities are investigating as a possible murder-suicide in Owasso, Oklahoma.
Weeks prior to the incident, Gilson publicly accused her husband, Jeremiah Shawn Duffey, of being a pedophile. On July 23, police responding to a domestic violence call discovered both Gilson and Duffey deceased. Dispatch audio obtained by Fox News reveals the dispatcher’s urgent concern as they heard a woman’s distress in the background, followed by a loud bang.
During the call, the dispatcher referenced allegations against Duffey, mentioning that law enforcement had been searching for him after reports surfaced of him “kissing a juvenile.” A child at the scene later told 911 that their stepfather had shot their mother, according to local reports.
Gilson had been vocal on social media about her estranged husband’s alleged misconduct. On July 11, she posted a TikTok video stating, “Preparing for when Netflix drops a documentary about my soon to be ex husband who I just found out is a pedophile.”
Her ex-husband, Lyle Landers, told People magazine that he had urged her for years to leave Duffey, describing the relationship as one where domestic abuse had become normalized. Landers emphasized that Gilson was a devoted mother whose protective instincts ultimately put her in harm’s way.
Authorities revealed that Duffey, a basketball coach, had previously faced accusations of inappropriate behavior with minors. On June 9, he was reported by a parent and child to police for allegedly touching a female child at a school event.
Further claims emerged, including a protective order filed by another woman who accused Duffey of “kissing and fondling” her 15-year-old daughter, a player on the youth basketball team he coached. Reports indicate he gave the girl money to keep silent.
Following the June allegations, Gilson sought an emergency protective order to keep Duffey away from their home. The investigation into the deaths continues as authorities piece together the tragic events leading up to this devastating outcome.
