Evansville woman returns to Kansas hospital to thank staff after deadly dust storm crash

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – An Evansville woman who was seriously injured in a dust storm crash on Interstate 70 in Kansas returned to the hospital where she was treated to thank the staff who cared for her.

Denise Allison and her sister Stephanie were driving back to Evansville from a trip out west when a dust storm moved across I-70, blocking their view of the road.

“In the distance I could see some dust blowing. Then all of a sudden, the next thing I could see was the back of a semi truck right in front of me,” Allison said.

Stephanie died at the scene. Allison was seriously hurt but said she was spared internal injuries…
