MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Two cooling centers are open in Mobile on Tuesday as temperatures continue to soar into the upper 90s.
Multiple fire departments responding to Baldwin County building fire
Waterfront Rescue Mission on North Washington Avenue and McKemie Place are open on July 28 while a heat advisory is in effect.
The Mobile County Emergency Management Agency has released heat safety tips, including:
- Drink plenty of water
- Stay in air-conditioned spaces or shaded areas when possible
- Never leave children, older adults, or pets unattended in vehicles
- Limit strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day
- Check on older adults, neighbors, and others who may be more vulnerable to heat-related illnesses
