Adams, who served as a volunteer EMT at Cool Branch Volunteer Fire Company in Penhook from 1991 to 2022, is currently undergoing treatment for Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. He was diagnosed in May. “Scottie was feeling a lot more tired, having a lot more leg pain than normal,” said Lisa Adams, Scottie Adams’ wife. “He went in for a routine doctor’s appointment, and his white blood count was greatly elevated.”
Lisa Adams said the cost for her husband’s treatment has been high. “Even with insurance, the cost for some of the medications is in the thousands of dollars,” said Lisa Adams. “We’ve been in tough situations before. We’ll get through this.”…
