A driver led Illinois State Police on a dangerous chase Tuesday, traveling erratically on major expressways in Chicago’s south suburbs and through a McDonald’s drive-through as it nearly hit several vehicles — and all with children inside.
NBC’s Sky 5 helicopter witnessed the scene as a wanted vehicle began driving away from officers at a high rate of speed, weaving in and out of traffic on U.S. 30 near Interstate 57 before traveling northbound on I-57 south of I-80. The vehicle became more erratic the farther north it traveled.
Eventually, the driver exited at Sibley Boulevard, made a sharp turn into a McDonald’s drive-through, nearly striking some cars as it continued to drive erratically before crashing at 148th and Cooper near Harvey…
