Yesterday, Shreveport Police responded to Raspberry Lane following a report that a man had been hit in the head with a hammer.
SPD Officers detained one woman at the scene, while the injured man was transported to Ochsner LSU Health with non-life-threatening injuries. Domestic Violence Detectives were called-in and began an investigation.
Investigators found that a verbal altercation began around 4:00 a.m. between the woman and the father of her children. The woman told detectives that the man attacked her in the living room, punching her in the face and knocking her to the floor. She said she grabbed a nearby hammer and hit him once in the head in an effort to defend herself…
