MINNEHAHA COUNTY (7-28-26) — An attempted robbery leads to a pursuit in Minnehaha County.
Sioux Falls police responded to a reported robbery at a HyVee gas station shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 26. The suspect vehicle did not stop and police said they eventually lost sight of it. A short time later, the South Dakota Highway Patrol spotted the suspect vehicle driving westbound on I-90. The vehicle again refused to stop and a second pursuit ensued.
The highway patrol says the suspect vehicle entered the eastbound lanes of I-90 and traveled westbound. As the suspect vehicle exited I-90 at 451st Street in McCook County, a highway patrol vehicle disabled it. The driver then barricaded himself inside the stopped vehicle.…
