MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Corey Dion Wallace stood on his auto lot on Moffett Road in 2022, showing FOX10 News the damage caused by masked men who ransacked his building and stole a half-dozen vehicles.
“I got here and witnessed my place in shambles,” he said at the time. “I went around back and saw the back door was kicked in and didn’t even realize the cars were gone until I came back out. File cabinets thrown all over the place. They got my keys, so I’m having to get my keys remade – about $5,000.”
Now Wallace, 33, is a convicted felon, having admitted to participating in an interstate vehicle theft ring. Chief U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Beaverstock sentenced him Tuesday to five years and 10 months in prison. The judge imposed a prison term of five years and three months on co-defendant Javonte Althonse Andrew Mitchell. He ordered both defendants to pay $308,055 in restitution…
