WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – A driver is in custody after police say he crashed into a building in Wilmington Tuesday.
Wilmington Police Department (WPD) said Zafer Kabakci was driving south on 16th Street when he hit a pole and then crashed into the New Hanover County STAR Center on July 28. Kabakci was taken to the hospital, and no other injuries were reported.
The crash brought down power lines and closed 16th Street between Greenfield Street and Robin Hood Road temporarily…
