ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man accused of stabbing and killing his upstairs neighbor at an Albuquerque apartment over spilled water will stay behind bars as he awaits trial.

Prosecutors told a district court judge this is one of the strongest cases for keeping someone in jail they’ve ever seen, as the defense shared 39-year-old Michael Cain’s remorse over the 22-year-old woman’s gruesome death.
“There is evidence of premeditation, there’s evidence of practice. There’s evidence of escalating behavior to try to solve a very petty annoyance.
