Bicycle Columbus rolls on with a new Executive Director

After forming in 2012 as a volunteer-led organization, Bicycle Columbus now has a full-time Executive Director. As Now Georgia reported in January, the position was made possible by a grant from the Georgia Office of Highway Safety.

Stacy Roberts started in her role in early July. While new to the Executive Director position, she fits in the seat perfectly as a fierce advocate for bicycling and cycling safety.

“I grew up in Florida and rode bikes all the time. After moving to Columbus two years ago, I learned that the bicycling community is a tight knit group who likes to come together for the benefit of others,” explained Roberts.

Her job description includes organizing events to distribute educational and safety materials, conducting pedestrian and bicycle conditions audits, hosting family-friendly group bicycle rides, and partnering with community organizations in their efforts to make streets safer…
