Serious injuries caused by crash in Troy

TROY — Troy police responded to a traffic crash around 11:15 p.m. July 18 at the intersection of Big Beaver and Livernois roads. The crash caused serious injuries to a 27-year-old Bloomfield Hills man.

According to police, a 2025 black Ford Mustang — driven by Mohamed Ali Ahmad, 21, of Troy — was traveling eastbound on Big Beaver Road, approaching Livernois Road at a high rate of speed. The Mustang allegedly entered the intersection against a red traffic signal and collided with a gray Ford Fusion, driven by the Bloomfield Hills man who was traveling southbound through the intersection.

The Troy Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit responded to investigate the crash and the intersection remained closed for about three hours while detectives processed the scene.

The driver of the Ford Fusion was transported to a local hospital, where he remained in critical condition at press time…
